I am certain many of you who suffer from skin pigmentation, would have tried and tested many anti-pigmentation skin care and services, but still to no avail.  Why?

HAPPY MONDAY!

Oh gosh, this skin pigmentation makes me look aged and I won’t see any stranger without covering up my skin pigments. Hyperpigmentation causes the skin to darken resulting in uneven skin tone, unsightly and confidence dampening,  sometimes.

What can I do about it?

The culprit of having this hyperpigmentation condition is the excess production of melanin.  It is a pigment that gives skin its color.  A few factors that contribute to this hyperpigmentation: certain medications, pregnancy, endocrine diseases, and STRESS which I would like to cover here.  Many of these factors are disrupting the hormone levels.

Beauty Hormones are melatonin, cortisol, DHEA, Progesterone, Testosterone, Estrogen, Human Growth Hormone.  A delicate off balance of any of these hormones will cause havoc to your skin.

MANAGE your chronic stress level and here is WHY.

Stress, Hormones and Skin Hyperpigmentation

When you are under stress, in my earlier blog it was mentioned that Stress robs your body of oxygen, and now I can tell you that it also “steals” PROGESTERONE in order to make the primary stress hormone CORTISOL to prepare your body in fight and flight mode.

Progesterone is a revitalizing hormone that is beneficial for skin elasticity and circulation.  Excessive cortisol production stimulates melanin production which causes the hyperpigmentation condition.

If STRESS is causing you sleepless night, this also affects another hormone, MELATONIN. Melatonin regulates sleep-wake cycles and responsible for skin repair and renewal.

Under this chronic stress environment, you can relate what negative side effects it has caused to your skin hyperpigmentation condition due to the disruption of the balance in hormonal production.
